but the point is, i wouldnt turn in if i had seen them.
When i did karting years ago i ALWAYS used to crash into people, because i half commited, i didnt know HOW to overtake. In LFS I get so many people saying 'you almost hit me when u passed me' because they dont realise that that is the way to pass.
It will be intresting to hear tristans point of view on this.
Race starts is another area where people dont know. SO many people get angry when i say 'just go flying into the corner' and INSIST that braking early is the best option. I only hit people at starts if i mean to, and very rarely when i dont mean to.
Maybe a general race craft video is what is needed
When im racing and i pass people in a chicane (AS Club or SO Classic) people say 'you cant pass there'!!! and i always say, you can pass anywhere.
This message has appeared on karting.co.uk, which kinda proves it.
Just the other day i had someone get their nose beside my rear wheel in the last corner of SO classic and when i turned in he blamed me saying 'senna as normal' etc.
In my opinion, most LFSers dont know how to overtake, they fall into the group of 'as long as i have my nose beside the rear wheel, its MY corner' where as I, TristanCliffe, Nikimere, Kevomcenzy and Arrechee throw the car into the corner fully commited.
You might be wondering what the point of the thread is, but im wondering if anyone can make a wiki or a video on how to actually overtake, with examples of the common 'half commited brake in the same place' manuvers, and proper chuck it in moves?? Maybe LawVS can do this, hes awesome at doin stuff.
Will be good, and hopefully weight is less of a disadvantage per kilometer here than at GP, although since the track is twice as long the lap times will be about 0.2 0r 0.3 slower per 10kg, about the same as GP (per lap).
chris york is a legend. i used to race against him when i was a noobie in TKM! and work with him. i didnt like him at first, but hes a legend now!!!
about the rage buggy, chris well tell u about that but heres my story...
I was drivin it back and i couldnt decide weather to go left or right of one of the poles near the national, i decided to late and sideswiped it and took it out of the ground. i put the buggy back and hoped no1 would notice. a few days later i got a call from Ian and i was like SHIT and i had to go and be 'severly reprimanded infront of my mother'
lol..... so pete dont like me.. Im testing with my m8 on wednesday 21st, then along with tristan on sat 24th, both in senior TKM. might see u there then.. im number 28. (well on sat tristan will be)
and yea the karts are really even, Dan Parker and Chris maintain them really well. so theres only a tenth or 2 difference!! apart from the tyre wear is different on some of them
If that was LFS, speed would have blamed ralf for 'turning in on him!'
I get that all the time!!
The race was very boring, but going in real life makes it worth while. When i went in 2003 i stood at copse so i didnt see any action, i saw some overtakes on the big TV tho...
I used to work for both when it was all 1 unit, but unfortunatly i crashed a rage buggy very hard and caused lots of damage, so Ian doesnt like me, and i dont like pete and i find the little track boring. so now i work on the big track with dan parker. Black Cat are crap. I was in the other day driving the karts on the little track for sam
i used to test karts for them, and marshall but i stopped over the winter period and havnt worked since.
my real name is will dendy and u can usually see me in a 2 stroke. crashing.
lol only jokin about that, i used to have a repuation... got rid of it now
WOW awesome!
i love it how the music (which is brilliant) goes with the crashes. and using AI to make crashes, GENIUS!!! i totally love it. i love the editing, and i think that the fact that u didnt press Shift+F adds something to it!
I hope that the world sees this, spielberg has just lost his job. this is a MUST SEE 10 out of 10!!!
